Carmend was established in Croydon, Surrey three decades ago by Andrew Carter. Starting out as a mobile mechanic-for-hire – who had already fully restored a Triumph Vitesse before he was 20 – Andrew eventually was able to move into the first of several premises, culminating in the fully-equipped facility he now has within walking distance of East Croydon railway station.
The business has gradually evolved away from being a general garage to looking after a wide spectrum of prestige and classic cars, with a customer base that represents a lifetime working with cars, and gaining the trust of discerning owners all over central and south-west London and the Home Counties.
Andrew can offer constructive and practical advice on all aspects of classic car choosing, purchase, maintenance, overhaul, worthwhile upgrades, investment and projected restoration. Carmend relies on a wide network of specialists in addition to its own workforce. In recent years, Mercedes-Benz SL roadsters of any generation, original Minis and classic Range Rovers have got the close attention of Andrew and his team, resulting in a wealth of expertise for dealing with all aspects of fine thoroughbred cars like these.
Whatever kind of classic car you’ve set your heart on, Andrew is happy to talk through the entire purchase and subsequent renovation project. And if you own a classic that you’d like to sell then he can represent you in negotiations to ensure that it goes to an appreciative new home. Just call or email for prompt attention.
